NASCAR's Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Jimmie Johnson to Debut Exclusive Shows on XM Satellite Radio on February 16XM Satellite Radio |
NASCAR drivers Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Jimmie Johnson will each launch their own weekly radio shows exclusively on XM Satellite Radio on Thursday, February 16.
"Jimmie Johnson: Not What You Expected with Marty Smith" will debut Thursday at 7:00 pm ET on XM's NASCAR Radio (XM Channel 144). "Dale Jr.'s Unrestricted" will premiere at 7:30 pm ET.
XM, the official satellite radio network of NASCAR, will broadcast the Daytona 500 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series on Sunday, February 19, beginning at 11:00 am ET, live from Daytona International Speedway.
The new XM show "Dale Jr.'s Unrestricted" features Earnhardt talking about the latest happenings on the NASCAR circuit, as well as music and other personal interests on the wide-ranging show.
"Listeners to my new show on XM will get a real sense of who I am both on and off the track," said Dale Jr. "Thanks to XM, I'll have a national weekly radio show that allows me to speak my mind, play my music and, most important, keep in touch with NASCAR fans. I'll be able to share with NASCAR fans things they won't be able to hear anywhere else."
"Jimmie Johnson: Not What You Expected with Marty Smith" features Johnson and co-host Smith giving a behind-the-scenes look at the sport each week for a fresh perspective on racing, music, and more.
"I'm going to bring something new," Johnson said. "There are enough shows out there with all the nuts and bolts and stats and all the stuff that goes with our sport. I want to bring in a totally different aspect of what goes on once those cameras shut off and everybody goes on to their normal way of life."
